A time for endurance...maturity...and growth 7/15 - 7/17

7/12/2011 4 lb 15 oz
7/13/2011 4 lb 15.5 oz
7/14/2011 4 lb 15.5 oz
7/17/2011 5 lb 0.5 oz

Aliyah has been introduced to a bottle and breastfeeding....now we just need to work on endurance.  We are not quite at taking a full feeding yet.  She did about half a feeding today.  The doctor wants her to move to 2 feedings a day, but when Christal went back at 3 pm (6 hrs after the first feeding) she was still too sleep to take a bottle. Hopefully, she will be more attentive at 9:00 p.m.  (We need to have another peep talk ;)

She is also having trouble with the a large amount of milk at one time.  When feeding, you have to pay attention to what she is doing.  If not, she will chock.  Overall, she is progressing.  She is a 5 pounder now!

I did get a chance to hold her for an extended period of time.  The whole time, she was wiggling looking at who knows what.  I loved it though!  That was the highlight of my weekend.  I love you Aliyah.

Below is the checklist of what we have pending prior to our journey home.

God Bless,
Barry G.
